Berkeley vs Marine Corps

Unless you have not had access to the web for the past couple of weeks, you are aware of the idiots in Berkley, CA. Zombietime sums it up very well. There is hope that Senator Jim DeMint's Semper Fi Act will gain ground. I have written my Senators and Representatives to try to enlist their support of the bill. I urge you to do so, as well.

This is the body of what I sent to the Congressmen:

Dear ,

Today, February 6, 2008, Senators James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia), Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Oklahoma), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and David Vitter (R-Louisiana) introduced the Semper Fi Act of 2008.

You have stated that you are in support of our troops and their mission. Please remember the oath that each member of the military took; “I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” Not much different from the Presidential oath; “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” (i.e The oath for the President is not just for the presidency since the president was already elected. It is the oath for the Commander In Chief to protect and defend!)

Please consider crossing political lines regarding the Semper Fi Act.

The bill would rescind over $2 million in hidden earmarks for Berkeley, California in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and transfer the funds to the Marine Corps.

One earmark provides $243,000 in taxpayer dollars for the organization Chez Panisse to create gourmet organic school lunches in the Berkeley School District. Chez Panisse is dedicated to “environmental harmony” and their menu features “Comté cheese soufflé with mâche salad,” “Meyer lemon éclairs with huckleberry coulis,” and “Chicory salad with creamy anchovy vinaigrette and olive toast.”

Congressman John Campbell (R-California) is introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives.

This is a result of the City Council of Berkeley voted to oust Marine Corps recruiters from their downtown office, saying the Marines were “uninvited and unwelcome intruders.” Berkeley officials also voted to give the radical protest group Code Pink space outside the recruitment office and urged them to “impede, passively or actively” the work of Marine Corps recruiters.

Senator Inhofe stated: “Unfortunately, those on the Berkeley city council do not seem to understand the sacrifice of the brave men and women of the United States Marine Corps. By interfering with military recruiting, the city of Berkeley is hampering our ability to protect this nation. While the city of Berkeley and the protesters are free to say whatever they like, free speech is not a protection from consequence.”

I strongly urge you to give support to this proposal. Our military deserves respect, not derision.

Respectfully,

Take a stand against the aging hippies (Frank J knows what to do to hippies - "Punch them in the face!") and the result of their
drug-damaged chromosomal offspring. Contact your congressional representatives. Send a letter of support, give a friendly phone call to the recruiting office, talk about hippies and commies, the weather, or whatever. I'm sure a supportive voice would mean a lot when you have moonbats at your doors and windows, graffiti on the sidewalk, and a carnival of idiots stomping on your turf.

In the OLD days of the Vietnam war, some soldiers soon figured out that the Tonkin Incident was a fraud. Others took decades, and even now when the LBJ tapes are public, many don't know.

But getting back to the 60's, the antiwar movement began with serious, thoughtful teach-ins about politics and the like. This process was INTERRUPTED by waves of "hippies", to the dismay of the sane antiwar political types. Where did they all come from?

Davesweb online made a startling observation: The "hippie" movement seemed to arise from a bunch of folk/rock musicians in Laurel Canyon, many of whom were offspring of high military intelligence. Jim Morrison's dad was an Admiral, for one example.

Nearby in Laurel Canyon was another strange thing: a large secret CIA-military studio for studying movies and probably psy-war.

So setting aside dozens of coincidences, it almost seems that the CIA itself created it's own opposition. Well, CIA is *known* to have done that in other areas, such as the Congress for Cultural Freedom, a CIA-run Left org. Ditto for Cord Meyer and United World Federalists.

Nowadays, in the 21st century, the antiwar movement was comparatively instantaneous, like it was freeze-dried MREs. Some of these groups get funding from .. the Ford Foundation, which has been notorious for being headed by retired CIA and Defense, like John McCone and McGeorge Bundy.

So -- something to think about -- Code Pink may very well be an org designed to discredit those Americans who oppose all war or oppose wars of imperialism (Bushco brags that we're an Empire) or who oppose the Iraq war, in such a way that whatever their principled stance may be, what comes across is mayhem and weirdness.

Just one more unrelated example. If you know the history of Iran-Contra and BCCI (the "Bank of Al-Qaeda") in the 80s, then you know that John Kerry actually prosecuted or pretended to prosecute these Bush colleagues. You also know that Bush Jr rehired these men, some who were pardoned criminals, some who had factually committed treason, for example by providing arms to a declared enemy of the US, Iran, as well as disobeying the Law set down by Congress.

BCCI was a bank described more as a financial institution which handled arms trading, narcotics, terrorism, lending, money flows. It was founded by I think Richard Helms, and its members included people like Abu Nidal and the Medellin Cartel, along with CIA and Col Oliver North.

However, you will note, John Kerry NEVER mentioned his role in leading an investigation to prosecute those involved. I heard he mentioned it once, at a speech/rally, but never mentioned on TV or in any ad that he once tried to prosecute a big chunk of Bush Jrs cabinet for crimes 20 years ago tied to Sept 11. Why not? Was he TRYING to lose, to his frat brother from Yale at Skull and Bones? Was Kerry a "made man" who was assigned to take the fall? Dems tried hard to dump Dean and get milquetoast Kerry in his place.
